Harbin Z-9A-100 (Z-9B)
Compared to the Harbin Z-9 Haitun, the helicopter's WZ8A engines are uprated to 740-shp (551.818 kW); and the fenestron blades number 11 wider chord composite blades instead of 13 all-metal blades. The aircraft featured the fuselage of the AS 365N and the larger tail assembly of the AS 365N2. Maximum internal and external payloads are 1,900 kg and 1,600 kg, respectively. The Z-9A-100 received CAAC type certification in December 1992; as the Z-9B (completely indigenous-produced) the helicopter entered PLA service in 1994.
