Charles Richet
France
Charles Richet was a Nobel Prize winning physiologist and a pioneer in aviation. He was an engineer and supported the work of Louis and Jacques Breguet, who constructed the first flying machine to lift a person off the ground vertically, the Breguet-Richet Gyroplane No. 1. Charles was an engineer and is believed to have given technical as well as financial and moral support to this effort.
