David S. Greene

Lt. Col. David S. Greene, USMC, was a marine helicopter pilot and HUMS Program Manager for Goodrich Government Systems. He joined Goodrich in February 2001 as a program manager; he was deployed for active duty in December 2003 and went to Iraq shortly after that. He was also a member of the American Helicopter Society.

Greene was born August 12, 1964, and he grew up in the Saranac Lake area of New York. He earned his B.S. in Physical Science from the U.S. Naval Academy. Following graduation, he spent eleven years in the Marines as a helicopter pilot. Greene was killed on July 28, 2004, in Iraq while flying an AH-1W Super Cobra, he was shot down near Fallujah, Iraq, where he was stationed with his reserve unit. Greene was flying a mission in support of the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force when he was killed by small arms fire.
