James (Jim) Hamlet

MG Jim Hamlet was one of Army aviation's most highly decorated pioneers . Hamlet, a former Tuskegee Airman in World War II, commanded the 11th Combat Group Aviation at Marble Mountain in the Republic of South Vietnam, the third brigade of the First Cavalry, the last Army combat brigade in Vietnam, and the 4th Infantry Division at Fort Carson during 1972-1974. He died in January of 2001. He is a member of the Army Aviation Hall of Fame.
