William J. Wallace, Jr.

William J. Wallace joined AHS April 2, 1962 as manager of public relations and advertising for Boeing Vertol Co.  In the same year, he became membership committee representative for the Society. He served as director-at-large during the 1964-65 term and was chairman of the AHS Annual National Forum in Washington in 1965.

A native of Long Island, Wallace graduated from Fordham University.  His interest in aviation led to positions with The New York Times, McGraw Hill, American Bosch Arma, and Boeing Vertol Co.  A member of the National Press Club, he was also affiliated with the Air Force Association, American Rocket Society, and American Ordnance Association.  He also was a former director of the Navy League, D.C. Council.

William J. Wallace Jr., Washington press relations representative for General Electric Co., former director of AHS and familiar figure at Society functions, died on September 9 at Anne Arundel Hospital, Annapolis, Md., after a brief illness.  He was 46.
