Fred L. Roscoe

Fred L. Roscoe was Commercial Domestic Sales Manager of Bell Helicopter Corporation at Fort Worth.  He joined Bell August 1, 1957.  Formerly he was associated with Cessna Aircraft of Wichita, Kansas, first as a dealer in Salina and later as Domestic Sales Manager.

In World War II he flew 35 missions over Europe as an 8th Air Force pilot of B-17 bombers, receiving the Air Medal and five Oak Leaf Clusters, two battle stars and one unit citation.  He was born in Salina October 11, 1923, and attended Kansas Wesleyan University.

Mr. Roscoe, 35, was killed on Tuesday January 13th, 1959 when his helicopter crashed near Santa Rosa, N.M.  He was flying alone enroute to the annual convention of the Helicopter Association of America at San Mateo, California.
