First flight of the Hughes YAH-64 (AAH competitor)

Description

First flight of one of the aircraft in the US Army's AAH competition. Also known as Hughes Model 77 by the company designation.

The aircraft flew from the Hughes flight test facility in Palomar, CA. Pilots were Robert Ferry and Raleigh Fletcher
