First flight of a lateral tandem rotor configuration (Focke-Wulf Fw 61)

Description

The first 'free' flight of a VTOL aircraft with 2 main rotors side by side. Ewald Rolfs was the pilot. The aircraft would become the first fully operational helicopter in the world.
