The initial report on the UH-60A rotor airloads flight test program is published

Description

The UH-60A airloads program was a test program run by NASA and the US Army Aeroflightdyamics Directorate to gather high quality airloads data from a modern rotor. The program,

“was designed to overcome weaknesses of past programs in terms of the quality and quantity of data, the bandwidth of the data, and ease of accessibility to the data”

quoting from the reference below,

Kufeld, R. M.; Balough, D. L.; Cross, J. L.; Studebaker, K. F.; Jennison, C. D.; and Bousman, W. G.: Flight Testing the UH-60A Airloads Aircraft. American Helicopter Society 50th Annual Forum, Washington, D.C., May 1994.

The flight test program was completed at the end of February 1994 and has provided a valuable source of data for the industry.
