The CAA issues the first US civil helicopter safety standards

Description
The Civil Aeronautics Bureau (CAA) issued document "Aircraft Engineering Division Report No. 32, Proposed Rotor-plane Airworthiness ". This document provided the technical basis for issuing the Type Certificates to the world's first commerially certificated helicopters, Bell Model 47, TC No. H-1 issued May 8, 1946 Sikorsky Model S-51, TC No. H-2 issued April 17, 1947 Source: Development of Civil Helicopter Airworthiness Standards, Burdell L.
