First flight of a twin turbine powered helicopter (modified Kaman HTK-1)

Description

The first time that any VTOL aircraft had flown using 2 turbine engines (Boeing 502-2) as the source of power to the main rotor.

This was a joint U.S. Army/Navy project using a modified, production Kaman HTK-1 helicopter.
