First helicopter naval rescue

Description
The rescue was performed by a Sikorsky owned S-51 flown by Sikorsky Chief Test Pilot Jimmy Viner assisted by Lt. Joe Rullo, a naval aviator flying from U.S. Navy aircraft carrier “Franklin D. Roosevelt” (CVB-42). escued were Lt. Robert A. Shields and his crewman, Aviation Radioman Don K. Little. Shields had been forced to ditch his Curtis SB2C “Helldiver” because of engine failure.
