First flight of the prototype (YHC-1B) of the CH-47 Type series

Description

The Boeing YCH-1B was the prototype for the CH-47 series of tandem rotor aircraft. The aircraft was re-designated YCH-47A after the rationalization of US military aircraft designations in 1962 and entered service as the CH-47A Chinook.
